We all know these types of lists require some silly assumptions and an above average tolerance for bullshit. I didn't link to the article because it has any objective value. The article itself is a mildly confusing read, and the responses are strange even by internet commenting standards.
But the article unintentionally raises an uncomfortable question. Is it possible for Brandon Roy to occupy a space where he is simultaneously not-famous (in the mainstream sense) and overrated? Is that even possible? How many NBA stars have had entered this territory?

If he's not in the top 10, he's close.
Kobe, LeBron, Wade, CP3, Howard are definitely in. After that, you've got about 10 guys that could make a case for those last five spots: Duncan, Bosh, Dirk, Nash, Amare, Deron Williams, Roy, Durant, Melo, Billups- did I forget anyone?
I think he's an elite player. I'm curious about if basketball people will overrate him just because he remains mostly below the radar to the mainstream. All Star voting should be interesting.
