Terrell Brandon is a Man of Action

The city of Portland loves Terrell Brandon. Why not? He's from here, loves it here, and seems to be a very good human being. Injuries ended his All-Star NBA career too soon, but the guy doesn't need basketball to be a success. These days he plays lots of tennis, has investments in the community, and organizes cool events like a high school basketball tournament on MLK Day. Add crime-fighting to that list. Wow.

Ah Terrell Brandon was the man. I also enjoyed the pre-alcoholic/manic depressed Vin Baker footage and some vintage Glen Rice as well. Classic.

I would argue that TB never stopped being the man. A combination of his injury, quiet nature, and playing for Cleveland could be why he remains mostly off the radar of so many NBA fans. That SI cover calling him the league's best PG came out in the years of Penny, Stock, and GP.

I concur. I always felt that Brandon was underrated, but there were some great PG at the time, he was traded to Minnesota for a then baller Marbury. Solid game, defensively and offensive, but I would like to read that article, Im sure it read best to never get to the finals, or most underrated. GP, Stock, and Penny all led their teams to Finals, 96, 98, 95 respectively, so its hard for me to see SI with a solid arguement.
